UPDATE--COLUMBIA POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING AT FOREST AVENUE AND GRAND AVENUE

COLUMBIA, MO (January 11, 2014) -       UPDATE---COLUMBIA POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING AT FOREST AVE AT GRAND AVE


A suspect has been identified in the shooting which occurred earlier today 
at Forest Av at Grand Av. The suspect is Damerian C. Cheatum, DOB 
03-27-96, of Columbia. Columbia Police have probable cause to arrest 
Cheatum for First Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful 
Use of a Weapon. Cheatum also has an existing warrant for his arrest for 
Third Degree Assault. 
Cheatum should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with who 
comes into contact with Cheatum, or knows his whereabouts, should call 
their local enforcement agency, or dial 911. 
The investigation is active and ongoing. Further updates will be released 
as appropriate. There is no photo available at this time.

remain anonymous.
