Columbia Police Investigating An Assault With A Knife Near Broadway And Hitt Street

COLUMBIA, MO (January 19, 2014) -         COLUMBIA POLICE INVESTIGATING AN ASSAULT WITH A KNIFE NEAR BROADWAY 

                                          AND HITT STREET

The Columbia Police Department is investigating an assault with a knife that occurred 
near 1101 E. Broadway Street this morning at 1:36 A.M.
Officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving several males. Upon officers arrival 
dispatch advised a white vehicle was leaving the area and was possibly involved in 
the disturbance. Officers located the white vehicle matching the description at the 
intersection of Broadway and Providence. Officers located inside the vehicle a black 
male victim, age 24, from Sturgeon with a knife wound from the disturbance at 1101 E. 
Broadway. The victim was transported with a serious injury to a local hospital. There is 
no suspect information at this time. 
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released once it becomes 
available. If anyone has any information regarding this case please call the Columbia 
Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (573)875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
