Columbia Public Works - Snow Operations - Saturday, March 1 at 4:00 PM

COLUMBIA, MO (March 1, 2014) - NWS has issued a Winter Storm Warning for much of central Missouri including Columbia and Boone County from 6 PM this evening until 6:00 am Monday, March 3. Expecting snow to begin after 9:00 PM this evening with heavy snow fall at times. Again, this appears to be a long duration precipitation event and road conditions will deteriorate rapidly once the snow begins. Full crew coming in at 7:00 PM this evening. Equipment was double checked and readied during the day on Friday. We ask our customers to help us make road passable by:Do not park on priority routes and have all vehicles moved by 9 this evening to avoid enforcement.On residential streets park vehicles in driveways.Stay off the roads if possible during the snow event. Again, the forecast is for heavy snow at times and travel is forecast to become difficult.
