Mother And Boyfriend Arrested For Second Degree Murder In Death Of Infant

COLUMBIA, MO (March 1, 2014) - MOTHER AND BOYFRIEND ARRESTED FOR SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN DEATH OF INFANT

On 02-28-14 at 2:50 A.M. Columbia Police Officers and E.M.S. were dispatched to 504 Woodridge Drive in reference to an 8 month old female infant who was not breathing. The mother of the infant called 911 to report she was not breathing. The infant, Finely Steele, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The investigation revealed the death was due to physical trauma and not natural causes.


On 02-28-14 at 9:30 P.M. Cody M. Baker, 31, was arrested for Murder in 
the Second Degree, to be set bond.

On 03-01-14 at 3:00 A.M. Anna E. Steele, 24, was also arrested for Murder 
in the Second Degree, to be set bond.


This is still an active and ongoing investigation. There is no further 
information available for release at this time.
