Arrest Made In Strong Arm Robbery On Nebraska

COLUMBIA, MO (May 7, 2014) -                         ARREST MADE IN STRONG ARM ROBBERY ON NEBRASKA

 

Columbia Police Officers arrested Lequanda I. McGee on 5/7/14 at 12:12 A.M. at 309 E. Business Loop 70 for Robbery in the Second Degree with a to be set bond and misdemenaor stealing with a bond of $500.00.

 

On 5/7/14 at 12:05 A.M., officers were dispatched to 301 Nebraska Avenue, Break Time convenience Store, in reference to a robbery. The investigation revealed McGee entered the store with his face partially concealed with his t-shirt, walked around the counter and demanded the cashier open the register. The cashier refused to open the register and attempted to push McGee out from behind the counter. McGee pushed the cashier and atempted to grab a bottle of alcohol from the shelf. McGee ended up knocking over several bottles of alcohol and damaging property. McGee ran out of the Break Time Convenience Store. 

 

An Officer responding to the call located McGee sitting in an abandoned vehicle approximately 100 yards away from the Break Time Convenience Store. The cashier positively identified McGee as the suspect in this case. Officers reviewed video surveillance footage and McGee's clothing was an exact match to the suspect.

Officers noticed McGee matched the description of the suspect in the larceny from the same Break Time at 301 Nebraska Avenue from 4/22/14. During that theft, McGee entered the store at 11:25 P.M. with his face covered by a bandana and asked the cashier to give him all of his money. McGee took money from the cash register and fled the business on foot. McGee admitted his involvement in both cases.
