Fire Damages residence in south Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO (November 29, 2014) - At 6:24 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, the Columbia Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire at 4130 Lenoir Street, Lot 123. Several 9-1-1 callers reported smoke coming from the residence.
Columbia Firefighters arrived at 6:31 p.m. to find smoke visible from the residence. Firefighters entered the structure and using a single hose-line, crews extinguished the fire in less than ten minutes.
The fire was contained to a bedroom. The structure had smoke damage throughout. There were no occupants were home at the time of the fire. The estimated damage to the structure is $10,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Three engines, a ladder, and a rescue squad responded to the incident.
