Board of Health Seeks Input Regarding Tobacco Proposals

COLUMBIA, MO (October 2, 2014) - WHO: Board of Health

WHAT:  Public meeting regarding proposed legislative intent to amend Chapter 11 of the City Code as it relates to tobacco and e-cigarettes. 

    Meeting will include:


*Presentation by Robert Crane, MD, Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Ohio State University

*Public Hearing


WHERE: Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services 1005 W. Worley, Columbia, MO

WHEN: Thursday, October 9, 2014, 5:30 p.m.

WHY: The Board of Health invites members of the public to hear Dr. Crane and to speak on the proposed legislative intent by the Columbia City Council to amend current City Code to raise the legal age to purchase tobacco products to twenty-one years old, as well as the proposed legislative intent to include e-cigarettes in the language related to smoking in public places with the intent to eliminate e-cigarette use from indoor public areas.
