Kitchen Fire on Park De Ville Place

COLUMBIA, MO (October 11, 2014) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 105 Park De Ville Place on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 10:31am.

Columbia Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene less than seven minutes later and observed smoke coming from the eaves of a multi-story condominium.

Fire crews conducted a rapid scene assessment and determined there was fire in the kitchen of unit 105.  The fire was quickly extinguished.

Smoke migrated into the upper portions of the structure.   Fire personnel performed overhaul operations looking for hidden embers or fire in concealed spaces.  The event was brought under control in approximately fifteen minutes with the majority of damage contained to the kitchen of unit 105.

Fire investigators are on the scene conducting an origin and cause investigation.  Further information will be released as it becomes available.

There were no injuries associated with this fire.  Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call. The Columbia Fire Department reminds citizens that smoke alarms save lives and provide early notification of a fire in your home.
