Joint Communications to Activate Sirens on Wednesday
COLUMBIA, MO (August 3, 2015) - The monthly test activation of Boone County's outdoor warning sirens is scheduled for Noon on Wednesday, August 5. The outdoor sirens are used to warn citizens to all types of hazards. They are not designed to be heard by persons who are indoors. Persons who are indoors are encouraged to purchase a NOAA weather radio, to keep updated on threatening weather events.
The test is conducted by Joint Communications on the first Wednesday of each month in cooperation with the Boone County Office of Emergency Management. In the event of threatening weather conditions, the test will be postponed.
