Columbia Police Enforcing School Zones

COLUMBIA, MO (August 18, 2015) - COLUMBIA POLICE ENFORCING SCHOOL ZONES

Starting today, Columbia Police Officers will be enforcing speed limits in Columbia’s School Zones. The Columbia Police Department received a grant from the Missouri Division of Highway Safety for hazardous moving violations and occupant protection. These grants help pay for officers’ overtime in enforcing speed limits and seat belts laws/ordinances during the enforcement. Officers with the Columbia Police Department want to remind motorists to slow down and be particularly careful as they travel through school zones, to obey the posted speed limits and to wear their seat belts.
