City of Columbias 4th of July Fire in the Sky Celebration
COLUMBIA, MO (July 2, 2015) - Due to the annual 4th of July Fire in the Sky event in Downtown Columbia, there will be numerous road closures in the area:
-4th Street by Flat Branch Park will be closed from Cherry to Locust Streets from 1Â p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
-4th Street entrance to Flat Branch Pub and Brewing Company will be closed at 1 p.m.      â detour to the parking structure under the building to westbound Locust       to Providence.
-5th and 6th Streets from Cherry to Locust and just north of the mosque parking lot will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. and reopening at 11:30 p.m.
-7th between Locust and Elm will be closed at 1 p.m.
-Elm between 6th and 9th will be closed at 1 p.m.
-Locust from Providence to between 6th and 7th at the Heinkel Lot will be closed at 7Â p.m.
-Cherry from 5th to 6th will close at 7 p.m.
There will be no parking allowed at the 5th and Cherry parking garage beginning Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m., and the parking lot to the west of the garage beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. Free parking is available throughout the District and on University Campus and in any City or University owned lots and garages, unless they are marked otherwise.Â
Event-goers are encouraged to utilize CoMo Connect; buses will be running a typical Saturday schedule with extended and extended late night trip home after the Fire in the Sky event (normal fare structure applies).Â
