Boone County's Outdoor Warning Sirens to be Activated for Monthly Test
COLUMBIA, MO (May 4, 2015) - Boone County Joint Communications will conduct the monthly activation of the all-hazard outdoor warning sirens on Wednesday, May 6. Â The test is scheduled to take place at Noon, but will be cancelled in the event of threatening weather conditions.
The test activation of the over 80 sirens is a cooperative effort of Joint Communications and the Office of Emergency Management. Both agencies which encourage individuals, families, businesses and schools to use the test as an opportunity to review plans in the event of an emergency. Residents are reminded that the outdoor warning sirens are not designed to be heard indoors. Â
