COLUMBIA, MO (May 6, 2015) - WHEN?


*Friday, May 8, at 9 a.m.


WHERE?


*In front of Columbia City Hall, 701 East Broadway
(If inclement weather, the press conference will be held in the Council Chamber of City Hall)


WHAT?


*Mayor Bob McDavid will announce the formation of the Mayor's Task Force on Pedestrian Safety. The Task Force will be co-chaired by City Council representatives Clyde Ruffin (Ward 1) and Ian Thomas (Ward 4).


WHO?


*Mayor Bob McDavid

*Council member Clyde Ruffin (Ward 1)

*Council member Ian Thomas (Ward 4)

*Brant Kassel, Chair of Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission 


WHY?


*In the last six months, four pedestrians have been killed in Columbia as a result of being struck by automobiles, and four others have been seriously injured.
