Try Transit Day comes with free bus rides all day May 7
COLUMBIA, MO (May 6, 2015) - COMO Connect is celebrating Try Transit Day by offering free bus rides on Thursday, May 7th as part of the city's effort to encourage active modes of transportation during Bike, Walk and Wheel Week. That means all rides on the city's COMO Connect fixed bus routes will be completely free to all customers for the entire day of May 7th. COMO Connect enjoys offering this annual promotion to reward their current loyal riders, and also hopes the fare-free day will help attract new local riders to try public transportation.
The free rides are on all fixed bus routes, identified by a color and number, including the 10-Red downtown route and the limited-service 11-Aqua Prathersville Road commuter. ParaTransit curb-to-curb transportation services are not included in the free ride promotion, but will still be available to customers as usual during the event. A complete list of the city's bus routes and schedules can be found online at www.COMOconnect.org/
COMO Connect says the annual Try Transit Day is a great opportunity for newbies to try using public transportation for the first time and not have to worry about buying passes or getting transfer tickets. The City reminds customers that transit doesn't always have to be your only mode of transportation, and customers are encouraged to try using it occasionally for your morning commute to work or class, for errands and social outings, or to just jump on bus routes in your neighborhood to learn more about using the system and see where your local routes go.
