MEDIA INVITED TO CPD/MSHP TRAINING EXERCISE

COLUMBIA, MO (November 23, 2015) - Today, the Columbia Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be conducting a training exercise from approximately 12:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. near East Tayside Circle and Carrick Court.

The purpose of this training is to improve scene transitions between law enforcement agencies during prolonged events. We would like to invite you to this event for live coverage and/or interviews. Public Information Officers will be on scene from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. to respond to media inquiries.

If you would like to participate, we ask you to stage in the area of Dunbar Drive and East Tayside Circle.  An officer will meet you there, and advise further.  We ask that you take into consideration the privacy of the neighbors and the officers during this training event.  We will ensure you are provided ample outlets for photographs and video of this exercise.  At the conclusion of this training, Assistant Chief Jeremiah Hunter will be available for questions and interviews.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our agencies train together to keep our community safe.
