**Fire Prevention Week Kick Off 2015 / Generous Firehouse Subs Donation to the Columbia Fire Department**

COLUMBIA, MO (October 2, 2015) - The Columbia Fire Department and Columbia Professional Fire Fighters will kick off Fire Prevention Week 2015 at the Columbia Mall on Sunday, October 4 from 11:00am - 2:00pm in the parking lot by the Sears / Dillards wing.

Members of the Columbia Fire Department, Columbia Police Department, Community Emergency Response Team, Red Cross, Safe Kids Coalition and Firehouse Subs will be on-hand.  

Firehouse Subs, founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida by former firefighter brothers Robin and Chris Sorenson, will make a generous donation to the Columbia Fire Department at 12noon.

Timeline of events:

11:00am - Event start time 

12:00noon - Childrens games made by Columbia Fire Department Firefighters will be judged.  Generous donation to the Columbia Fire Department will be made by Firehouse Subs. 

1:00pm - Live fire demonstration showing the benefits of a home sprinkler system.

2:00pm - Event concludes

Festivities include:

Free barbecued hot dogs and Firehouse Subs while supplies last, Columbia Fire Department's Patches and Pumper, Columbia Police Department's McGruff the Crime Dog, fire truck bounce house and childrens games, face painting, free smoke detectors while supplies last, fire truck tours and a live fire sprinkler demonstration.
