**Update**Columbia Fire Department Responds to Commercial Structure Fire on Route B

COLUMBIA, MO (October 2, 2015) - Assistant Fire Marshal Mike Bauer has determined the area of origin of the fire at 5301 Route B on Thursday, October 1, 2015 to be a grinder that is part of cellulose insulation manufacturing equipment, located on the south side of the building.  The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.  Damage is estimated at $3,000. 

Additional information will be provided once it becomes available.

The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 5301 Route B on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 6:21pm. Units arrived less than six minutes later and observed smoke coming from the south side of the single story structure. Fire crews made an aggressive, exterior fire attack and had the event under control in approximately ten minutes. Fire investigators are on the scene. Origin and cause of the fire, damage estimates and other details will be provided once that information becomes available. Eight units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this event. There were no injuries reported.
