Arrests made in robbery in the 700 block of Stillwater Drive

COLUMBIA, MO (April 8, 2016) - Columbia Police officers arrested Tyrone James III, 18, Armon Greer, 19, and Kerwin Tamyrus Johnson-Wise, 20, in reference to yesterday’s robbery in the 700 block of Stillwater Drive.

On 4/7/16 at 1:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Stillwater Drive for a reported home invasion with a gun. The complainant reported three to four male suspects entered the home armed with at least two firearms. As officers arrived in the area, they received information regarding a male suspect running from the area of the incident.

Officers located two subjects, one on Bennett Springs Drive and another on Foxfire Drive; both subjects were detained for questioning. Boone County Sheriff’s Department assisted with a K-9 track in the area to locate suspects.  Officers received further information about a possible suspect vehicle. Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in the 600 block of Walnut Street, where a third subject was detained for questioning. Through investigation detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division determined James, Greer, and Johnson-Wise were involved in the robbery. There were no reported injuries or property damage resulting from the robbery.

James, Greer, and Johnson-Wise were all arrested for Robbery in the First Degree and Armed Criminal Action with bonds to be set by the Court.

During the investigation of the robbery, detectives learned one of the suspects that left the scene on foot may have been armed with a firearm, however, the suspect was not armed upon being detained. The Columbia Police Department advises residents in the area of the incident to be vigilant when allowing children to play outside in areas where a firearm may have been discarded. Officers searched the area in an attempt to locate a firearm, but no firearms were located. The incident area covers areas between Stillwater Drive to Bennett Springs Drive and Foxfire Drive. The exact path of the suspects is unknown.

If you locate a discarded firearm, contact the Columbia Police Department immediately and do not handle the firearm.
