Fire Damages Deck in South Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO (April 10, 2016) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 3203 Old 63 South, Copper Beach Townhomes on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 12:44am.
Units arrived less than four minutes later and found smoke and flames coming from a deck on the back of the structure.
Fire crews deployed a preconnected hose line and brought the incident under control in approximately ten minutes. Fire damage was contained to the deck and siding.
Assistant Fire Marshal Jim Pasley estimates damage at approximately $3,000. The fire originated in a five gallon bucket used to discard ashes.
Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this event. There were no reported injuries.
