[Update] Surface seal operations rescheduled for Aug. 3-12 due to weather

COLUMBIA, MO (August 2, 2016) - UPDATE DETAILS: Due to weather delays, Musselman & Hall plans to begin surface seal operations on Wednesday, Aug. 3, beginning with Old Highway 63 and working down the previously announced list. In order to finish by August 12, the contractor may continue work on Saturday as well. Plans for possible Saturday work and an updated schedule will be announced later this week.

[Update] Surface seal operations rescheduled for Aug. 1-12 due to weather

 

 

The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced on Wednesday that due to weather and related factors, surface seal operations have been rescheduled for Aug. 1-12, weather permitting.

The Onyx surface treatment is a fast-drying asphalt roadway and pavement sealing solution designed to extend pavement life. It is a mixture of liquid asphalt, fine aggregates, recycled products and bonding agents.

Musselman & Hall, a contractor for the City of Columbia, is applying the surface sealer and providing traffic control. Motorists and nonmotorized transportation users can expect minor delays and should follow the instructions of flaggers and no parking signs posted in the area. Vehicles left on the streets may be ticketed and towed.

The tentative work schedule for Aug. 1-5, which is subject to change due to weather or other factors, is as follows:

Monroe Street (Paris Road to Old Highway 63)

Amelia Street (N. William Street to Old Highway 63)

Brenda Lane (E. Walnut Street to north end)

Danforth Circle (Danforth Drive to west end)

Danforth Drive (Danforth Circle to south end)

 

Thursday, Aug. 4

Meadowvale Court (Rice Road to south end)

Lincoln Drive (Oak Street to McBaine Avenue

East Craig (Thurman Street to Garth Avenue)

North Garth Court (Garth Avenue to East End) 

Leslie Lane (Providence to Parkade)

Parkside Drive (Creasy Springs to Schwabe) 

Colonial (Whitegate Drive to north end)

Oakfield Drive (Oak Meadows Drive to Oakland Gravel Road)

Oakmeadows (Oakfield Drive to Oakfield Drive) 

Stone Street (Lakeview Avenue to north end) 

 

Friday, Aug. 5

Sylvan (Vandiver to Clark Lane)
