Physical disturbance with a gun near the 5300 block of Old Millers Road East

COLUMBIA, MO (February 9, 2016) - At 2:15 p.m., Columbia Police officers and Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 5300 block of Old Millers Road East in reference to a physical disturbance with a gun.

 

The preliminary investigation reveals two alleged victims provided a ride to two males  from a yet to be determined location inside the City of Columbia to the 5300 block of Old Millers Road East.  A verbal altercation ensued between the victims and the subjects during which one of the subjects brandished a firearm. The two victims exited the vehicle while the vehicle was in motion and the vehicle ran off the roadway and into a nearby ditch. The two subjects fled the crash site on foot. One subject was apprehended by officers near US-63 and Rolling Hills Road; he was detained for questioning.  Officers were unable to locate the second suspect. One victim sustained injuries from exiting the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

 

The suspect with the handgun is described as a black male in his 20’s between 5’8” and 5’10” with an average build.  He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and beanie.
