Public Works crew preparing for Tuesday snowfall

COLUMBIA, MO (January 18, 2016) - A mix of sleet, snow and freezing rain are predicted for the area starting late Tuesday morning and lasting through early morning Wednesday. The city's Public Works Department is monitoring the weather pattern and preparing a full crew to hit the streets as the weather moves in.

Snow accumulation is expected to reach the 2-inch mark and it is recommended that customers move parked vehicles off first and second priority routes tomorrow morning to help snow plows work as quickly as possible during the day. When 2 inches of snow accumulates on roadways, parking enforcement will be activated on priority routes, including ticketing and towing if necessary. Customers can sign up for automatic text alerts at www.ComoSnow.com to receive notifications of parking enforcement being activated.

Customers are urged to use extreme caution when traveling tomorrow.

Customers can monitor conditions, receive updates and see more info on Columbia's snow management process at www.ComoSnow.com.
