Shooting in the area of Ballenger Lane

COLUMBIA, MO (January 29, 2016) - On 1/28/16 at 9:21 p.m. officers were advised by Public Safety Joint Communications of a female victim, 20, with a gunshot wound to her head at a local hospital.

 

Officers made contact with the victim and observed a wound to her head consistent with being grazed by a bullet. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was inside a vehicle in the area of Ballenger Lane when she heard one gunshot and was grazed by the bullet. The wound was a minor laceration and determined to be non-life-threatening. The investigation is on-going.
