Road closures downtown for Fire in the Sky event
COLUMBIA, MO (July 1, 2016) - Due to the annual Fourth of July Fire in the Sky event in downtown Columbia, there will be numerous road closures in the area at 7 p.m. until after the fireworks show or as otherwise noted. Of the streets closed at 7, there will be no parking after 5 p.m.
Fourth Street by Flat Branch Park will be closed from Cherry to Locust Streets from 1 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
Fourth Street entrance to Flat Branch Pub and Brewing Company will be closed at 1 p.m. detour to the parking structure under the building to westbound Locust to Providence.
Fifth Street from Cherry to Locust and just north of the mosque parking lot will be closed beginning at 7 p.m.
Sixth Street from Broadway south to just north of the Heinkel Parking Lot entrance.
Seventh Street between Locust and Elm will be closed at 1 p.m.
Elm between Sixth Street and Eighth Street will be closed at 1 p.m.
Locust from Providence to between Sixth Street and Seventh Street at the Heinkel Lot will be closed at 7 p.m.
Cherry Street from Fifth Street to Seventh Street will close at 7 p.m.
There will be no parking allowed at the Fifth and Cherry parking garage beginning Sunday, July 3 at 7 p.m., and the parking lot to the west of the garage beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 4. Free parking is available throughout the District and on the University of Missouri campus and in any City or University owned lots and garages, unless they are marked otherwise.
