Single Engine General Aviation Aircraft Nose Gear Collapse on Landing at COU

COLUMBIA, MO (June 29, 2016) - At 7:13 pm, Airport Public Safety was notified of an inbound single engine Piper aircraft with potential nose landing gear problems. 

Airport Public Safety responded and stood by while the plane landed. 

Upon landing, the nose gear partially collapsed. The pilot was able to keep the aircraft on the runway. No injuries were reported to the occupant(s) of the aircraft. 

Central Missouri Aviation was able to tow the aircraft from the runway. 

Flights from Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago are both delayed by about one hour.
