Residential Structure Fire on Sir Barton Drive

COLUMBIA, MO (March 6, 2016) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 1408 Sir Barton Drive on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 11:01am.  Fire crews responding to the call observed heavy smoke while en route. 

Units arrived less than five minutes later and observed heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage.  Fire crews began an aggressive fire attack using preconnected hose lines and brought the event under control approximately twenty minutes later.

The home sustained heavy fire damage.  Two adults and three children were home when the fire began and were able to exit safely with no injuries.

Assistant Fire Marshal Joel Pauley is on the scene investigating the origin and cause of the fire.  A damage estimate has not been determined.

Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call.  There were no reported injuries.
