Columbia Fire Deparment to use 5th and Walnut Parking Garage for Technical Rescue Training in March

COLUMBIA, MO (March 13, 2016) - The Columbia Fire Department will test and evaluate new technical rescue equipment at the 5th and Walnut Garage on the following dates in March:

March 14 from noon to 5 p.m.

March 24, 25 and 28th from 8 a.m. to noon

Parking patrons, motorist and non-motorized transportation users will see fire fighters setting up equipment on the 6th floor and roof of the parking structure and will see fire fighters rappelling on the south side of the parking structure utilizing various rescue equipment.

The garage and the alley between 6th and 7th Streets will remain open during the training exercises.
