COLUMBIA, MO (March 26, 2016) - On Saturday, 03/26/16 at 6:19 p.m. Columbia Fire crews were dispatched to 803 Seventh Street for a reported residential structure fire.
Fire crews arrived on the scene at 6:21 p.m. with black smoke showing from the shed behind 803 Seventh Street. Fire crew aggressively extinguished the fire. There were no reported injuries on the scene.
The cause of the fire and a dollar damage estimate has not yet been determined. The fire is understand invesitgation.
The Columbia Fire Department wants to remind residents that working smoke alarms do save lives. Test your smoke alarms at least once a month by pressing the test button. REplace smoke alam batteries at least once a yeara. Replace smoke alalrms every 10 years. To ensure adequate protection, place smoke alarms in every sleeping room, and in a common area on every floor.
