Commercial Structure Fire 1100 Smiley Ln. (Taco Bell)

COLUMBIA, MO (March 28, 2016) - On Monday, 03/28/16 at 2:08 a.m. Columbia Fire crews were initially dispacthed to 1100 Smiley Lane for a reported fire alarm activation.  

When fire crews arrived on the scene at 2:14 a.m. they observed light smoke in the structure and upgraded the fire alarm to a Commercial Structure Fire.  Fire crews were able to access the business with its Knox Key.  During the fire crews interior investigation they observe an activated hood system above a commercial deep fryer.  Fire crews extinguished the remaining fire with a class K fire extinguisher.  

The business was not occupant at the time of the fire.  No reported injuries.

The cause of the fire and a dollar damage estimate has not yet been determined.  The fire is currently being investigated.
