Columbia Fire Department "ANIMAL RESCUE"

COLUMBIA, MO (May 5, 2016) - On Saturday, May 5, 2016 at 11:24 p.m. Columbia Fire Crews responded for animal rescue at 602 Norwalk Drive.  

Fire crews arrived on the scene shortly after notification and observe a large hole approximately 14' long, 4' wide and 20' deep.  Crews located the animal (A Therapy Dog) at bottom of the hole.  Crews observed noticeable sloughing and cracking of the soil on both sides of the trench (Hole.) Fire crews were able to use rescue harnesses and ropes to lift the dog to safety.

No reported inuries to the Therapy dog.
