ADDRESSING THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
The public is invited to speak to the Planning and Zoning Commission on any item on the agenda. Please approach the podium and after receiving recognition from the Chairman, state your name, address and purpose for speaking. For public hearing items (e.g. rezonings; O-P, C-P and M-R planned districts; and PUD’s) the order of presentation after introduction of an item by the Chairman will be:
1) Brief presentation by the staff.
2) Public hearing opened by the Chairman.
3) Comments by the applicant (and/or representative) and other proponents.
4) Comments by opponents and other interested citizens.
5) Public hearing closed by Chairman.
6) Additional comments by staff, as appropriate.
7) Planning and Zoning Commission discussion and action.
The order of business for non-public hearing items (e.g. subdivision plats, variances and street vacations) will normally include only items #1, #3, #4 and #7. However, the Commission will allow applicant and public comment when requested and as needed.
Please note that, in many cases (e.g. rezonings, planned districts, PUD’s, preliminary plats and variances), the Planning and Zoning Commission action is only a recommendation to the City Council. In other cases, a decision of the Planning and Zoning Commission is final, unless appealed to the City Council. Preliminary plats on tonight’s agenda are tentatively scheduled for consideration at the next City Council meeting. All other items are tentatively scheduled for final Council action in approximately 25 days. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Planning and Development Department, 2nd Floor, DanielBooneBuilding, 874-7239.
Please note presentations given by staff at the public hearings are a summary of the full staff report which is available for viewing at the above address or on the web at:
