Dear Community Member,

This email is being sent to let you know that on Wednesday, September 6 in the City Council Chambers on the 4th floor of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway, Imagine Columbia's Future will hold a Sponsors Council Kick-Off. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Proposals from two consulting firms will be presented with one to be selected to help facilitate the Visioning process, and a citizen survey will be ready to complete on-line. The survey will also be included as an insert in the Columbia Tribune and the Missourian on Wednesday, September 13th. The purpose of the survey will be to identify initial topic areas for planning Columbia's future. Please go to the City's website at http://www.gocolumbiamo.com/Public_Comm/Visioning/ for the most up-to-date information.

The City is also looking for volunteers to help with Imagine Columbia's Future. Because you are already familiar with Columbia's visioning efforts you may be interested in telling others about the process. Volunteering is a great way to help get others involved! We are looking for volunteers to staff information tables in three hour shifts at the Heritage Festival at Nifong Park on September 16 & 17 and at the Festival of the Arts on Courthouse Square on September 23 & 24.

Volunteers are also needed to assist at the Visioning Festivals on Saturdays, October 7 and 14 at local schools. Tasks include set up, food service, children's activities, and staffing the citizen topic group signup tables. Shifts range from one hour to four hours in length.

Citizen participation is the key to the success of the visioning process! If you can share a few hours this fall, please contact the Office of Volunteer Services at 874-7499 or volunteer at GoColumbiaMo.com. Thanks for considering this need.
