Good Morning -

Last fall, the public was asked to join in the visioning process and share their ideas for Columbia's future. Fifteen hundred "big ideas" for Columbia's future were generated. Since then, volunteers have worked in thirteen topic groups to distill those ideas into a comprehensive vision for the future.

You can now view vision statements, topic goals, strategies and action plans for all thirteen Citizen Topic Groups at http://gocolumbiamo.com/Public_Comm/Visioning/update.php.

Now, it is time for the community to decide priorities for Columbia's future.

During the Community Choices Open House, everyone will have a final opportunity to vote for their Top 6 priority strategies. While all of the goals and strategies will be included in the final Vision plan, the results of this ranking will help identify our common concerns and collective aspirations for the future.

Citizens can drop in anytime between noon and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 in the Kimball Ballroom at Lela Raney Wood Hall, Stephens College, 6 N. Broadway. Public transportation will run late that evening, and shuttles will be available to and from the Twilight Festival at 10th & Broadway.

Please pass the word about this important event to your friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and other interested parties.
