Good Afternoon, Vision Partners -
You are cordially invited to a public overview of the Natural Resources Inventory (NRI) project, Monday, October 13, 2008, 7-9 p.m. at the ARC, 1701 West Ash.
The NRI is a compilation of baseline data, descriptions, and maps that document the natural resources in the Columbia Metro area. This in an opportunity to learn more about what the NRI entails, what natural assets are included and how the inventory was carried out.
The data for the NRI project is being assembled by the University of Missouri Geographic Resource Center (GRC). Mr. Timothy Haithcoat, GRC Program Director, will be providing a detailed presentation of their work which will be used to help support decision making and policy as they relate to preservation, storm water management, climate change, energy uses, green infrastructure and measuring growth rates.
This project supports Columbia's vision for a connected, informed and engaged community. The NRI project will directly impact many of the Vision goals and strategies outlined by Citizen Topic Groups including Community Character, Development, Environment and Parks and Recreation. You can learn more about vision goals and strategies by visiting the community visioning page at www.gocolumbia.mo
For more information about NRI, please call Assistant City Manager, Tony St. Romaine at 874-7214.
