Good afternoon, Vision partners -
Thanks for your continued interest in vision-related news. Here are few items that you may find of interest.

City Channel Update
Some of the overlapping themes in the vision plan were the need for better communication, coordination of information and the use of technology to keep citizens informed and engaged. The City's government access television station is a tool for keeping the community informed about City policies, programs, services and facilities. The City Channel broadcasts meeting by the City Council, Planning & Zoning and Board of Adjustment. The City Channel also features engaging and entertaining programs that highlight a variety of issues of interest to citizens.

Mediacom has notified the City that all three public, education and government (PEG) television stations in Columbia will soon move to different channels and be broadcast digitally. The City Channel will move from Mediacom channel 13 to channel 80 sometime on or around April 20. More information is available at

Stimulus Funding Information
Important themes in the vision plan were governmental transparency and accountability. They are also predominant themes in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The Missouri Economic Stimulus Coordination Council estimates that Missouri could receive $4 billion - $6 billion, or more, in ARRA dollars, plus tax benefits for individuals and businesses.

New funding opportunities demand greater public accountability. In order to keep citizen informed about stimulus funding, a project accountability section has been posted on the City's Web site. You can view City of Columbia project updates at http://gocolumbiamo.com/Transparency/index.php.

Map Source
In a continued effort to enhance City services through technology, City staff has created Map Source, a new Web page that provides some of the most requested maps in a ready to print letter or poster-size PDF.
