Dear Vision Partner -
Thanks for your continued interest in Columbia's vision process and
ongoing efforts to build a connected, informed and engaged community.
The next Vision connecting event will be “Keys to the City” on
Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. at the ARC, 1701 West Ash.
"Keys to the City" is designed to provide the public additional
information on city government and enhanced access to both elected
officials and city staff. This event will also include a Neighborhood
Congress to engage residents on planning issues important to
neighborhood organizations.
"Keys to the City" supports the Governance and Decision Making citizen
topic group's Vision goal “Columbia’s governance is a model of
transparency, efficiency and citizen participation that enjoys the
strong confidence of its residents."
*Schedule of Events*
City Council "Office Hours" - Residents can visit with city council
members on issues of importance to them, particularly as council works
on the fiscal year 2010 budget.
Tentative council schedule:
5:00-6:00 p.m. Mayor Darwin Hindman, Ward 3 Councilman Karl Skala
6:00-7:00 p.m. Ward 2 Councilman Jason Thornhill, Ward 4 Councilman
Jerry Wade, Ward 5 Councilwoman Laura Nauser and Ward 6 Councilwoman
Barbara Hoppe.
City Information Fair 5 - 7 p.m. - Staff from several city departments
will provide information and updates.
Neighborhood Congress - 7:00-8:30 p.m. - The City of Columbia Planning
Department will lead discussions on neighborhood participation in city
planning, including the development process, public improvement
projects, traffic management, code enforcement and public safety.
