Good Afternoon, Vision partners -
Columbia's vision process revealed a community desire for improved
communication and interaction between citizens and City government. We
are pleased to announce two programs that help meet this goal.
*CityStream - Live streaming video of City Council meeting
The Columbia City Council steps into cyberspace tonight. If all goes
as planned, citizens with high-speed online access should be able to
view tonight's and all future Council meetings live, over the Internet.
This service is in addition to meeting broadcasts over the City Channel.
Dubbed “CityStream,” this new service also will allow users to view
archived meeting video within 24 hours after the meeting ends. Viewers
can see the whole meeting or click on a link in an online meeting agenda
and see only the video associated with a specific item. Supporting
documents will be available at the same location.

*Keys to the City - Wednesday, May 6
The next Vision connecting event will be “Keys to the City” on
Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. at the ARC, 1701 West Ash.
"Keys to the City" is designed to provide the public additional
information on city government and enhanced access to both elected
officials and city staff. This event will also include a Neighborhood
Congress to engage residents on planning issues important to
neighborhood organizations.
"Keys to the City" supports the Governance and Decision Making citizen
topic group's Vision goal “Columbia’s governance is a model of
transparency, efficiency and citizen participation that enjoys the
strong confidence of its residents."
Complete information including City Council "Office Hours" schedule is
available at:

Thanks for you help in creating a connected, engaged and informed
community!
