Good Morning -
Thank you for your continued interest in Vision actions and updates. In keeping with the vision that "Downtown Columbia is a hip and vibrant district with a diversity of easily accessible businesses, residences, attractions, and institutions; it is an exciting gathering place for all types of people, the Downtown Planning Charrette continues to focus on two areas:
- North Village Arts District
- Broadway/Providence
We appreciate everyone who has participated. It is through your insights, observations and suggestions that we are able to craft a well-thought-out vision and plan for the areas under study by H3 Studio and the Downtown Columbia Leadership Council.
The definition of a charrette is an intensive planning session. Several meetings have occurred over the past two weeks to get us to the discussion of preferred options for these areas. You can review these options all week at the charrette studio located in the newly renovated Berry Building at 1025 E. Walnut St.
You are also invited to attend a meeting at 4 p.m., Friday, June 25 at Dulany Hall on the Columbia College campus. This will be an opportunity for you to see firsthand the results of the community input received so far and to review and comment on the preferred choices.
