Joint meetings set for Sanford-Kimpton Building committees

	(COLUMBIA, MO) - A joint meeting for three management groups for
the Sanford-Kimpton Building will be held concurrently on Tuesday
morning, Aug. 24, 2004, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Sanford-Kimpton
Building on West Worley Street.
	Prior to the start of the meeting, there will be a brief signing
ceremony during which the city will convey title to the county for its
portion of the building and grounds.
	The three groups are the Unit Owners Association of the
Columbia/Boone County Health Department, the Unit Owners Association
Executive Committee and the Unit One Committee.
	The Sanford-Kimpton Building opened earlier this summer.
	"The city and county have long worked together to find a
suitable location for the Columbia/Boone County Health Department,"
said Raymond A. Beck, city manager.  "When the former Nowells building
on West Worley became available, we felt that we should look at it and
we ultimately determined that the building would fulfill our needs for
existing space, future expansion, if needed, parking and access to
public transportation. We appreciate the county's participation in
this project."
	A formal dedication will be scheduled this fall.
