FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 26, 2004
Municipal Judge Aulgur receives extremely favorable review; McKenzie
appointed as associate municipal judge
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The City Council met in a closed session last
night to interview and evaluate Municipal Judge Robert Aulgur.
"We are very pleased with the performance of Judge Aulgur,"
Mayor Darwin Hindman said. "He has taken very progressive steps with
respect to the court, including new computer programming and various
docket changes."
Judge Aulgur received a 4 percent merit increase, making his
salary $63,440, an increase from $61,001.
The Council also appointed former prosecutor William McKenzie as
associate municipal judge.
"We received many applications for the position from people
who were imminently qualified. Judge McKenzie has the most experience at
municipal court, is well-respected and will make an excellent associate
municipal judge," Hindman said.
The Council tabled the other associate municipal judge
applications and may fill a second position in the near
future.
