Statement from the city manager
COLUMBIA, MO (May 5, 2004) -- "Mr. Roy Dudark, director, Planning and
Development Department, has informed me that he is resigning his
position with his last work day being June 4, 2004. He has served in his
current position since August 7, 2000.
"During his employment with the city, he has made significant
contributions toward the planning and development of our city.
"Some significant contributions include updating the city's
comprehensive plans, particularly in the area of total transportation
planning (the city's 2025 Transportation Plan, street standards,
airport zoning, parking regulations, greenbelt - trail plan, etc.);
neighborhood revitalization, including a housing marketing analysis, and
others. In addition to general planning and development activities, he
planned and administered the city's Consolidated Plan which provides
federal funding for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and the
HOME program.
"Mr. Dudark served on various committees, including chairman of the
Technical Committee of the Columbia Area Transportation Study
Organization (CATSO); member of the CATSO Coordinating Committee; and a
member of the I-70 Advisory Group.
"Mr Dudark provided staff support and information for the Planning
and Zoning Commission and several other Council-appointed committees.
"On behalf of the city staff and myself, personally, I want to
publicly thank Mr. Dudark for his many contributions in support of the
city of Columbia.
"I will be working with our Human Resources Department to advertise
and fill this important position as soon as possible, and I will also
appoint an interim director on a timely basis."
