Temporary closure of Cherry Street

	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announced today that beginning Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 8 a.m., Admire
Construction, the contractor working on the Fifth and Cherry Sidewalk
Project, will begin construction of project-related storm sewer
improvements. This work will result in the closure of Cherry Street
between Fifth Street and Sixth Street. 
	The work should be completed, weather permitting, and the street
should be reopened Thursday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. Motorists and pedestrians
are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and
use an alternate route whenever possible.
