Temporary closure of Garth Avenue

	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
Sewer Utility announced today that beginning Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 8
a.m., Insituform, Inc. will begin a Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) project
for a deteriorated section of sanitary sewer main located in Garth
Avenue just south of Worley Street. This work will result in the
temporary closure of Garth Avenue between Switzler Street and Worley
Street. A detour route will be marked out as follows:
	For southbound Garth traffic continuing south - turn west on
Worley to 
Oak Street. Turn south on Oak Street and follow Oak back to Garth.
	For eastbound Worley traffic to southbound Garth - continue east
past 
Garth and turn south on Lasalle Place. Continue on Lasalle to Switzler
Street. Turn west on Switzler to Garth.  
	For northbound Garth traffic continuing north - turn east on
Switzler 
Street to Lasalle Place. Turn north on Lasalle to Worley. Turn west on
Worley to Garth.
	For westbound Worley traffic to southbound Garth - continue west
past 
Garth. Turn south on Oak Street and follow Oak back to Garth.
	The work should be completed, weather permitting, and the street
should be reopened Thursday, Oct. 14, at 4:30 p.m. Motorists and
pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the
construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
