Flat Branch Sack Lunch Music Series

COLUMBIA, MO (September 28, 2004) -- The Columbia Parks and Recreation
Department and the Convention and Visitors Bureau have been hosting a
variety of new events in Flat Branch Park at 4th & Cherry Streets this
fall. The fun continues with the Flat Branch Sack Lunch Music Series. 

Live music will be performed in Flat Branch Park every Wednesday in
October from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Leave the fast food lines behind.
Bring your lunch, a lawn chair, a friend and enjoy great music in a
beautiful park setting. 

The Flat Branch Sack Lunch Music Series is sponsored by the Convention
& Visitors Bureau. Lorah Steiner, director of the Convention & Visitors
Bureau, states "This kind of partnering is what makes tourism work and
what will make downtown and the district a great tourism and community
destination." 

The purpose of the events is to encourage use of the park and to
develop the park's potential for tourism in downtown Columbia.

Schedule

Wednesday, Oct. 6: One Shot Crocket, an original, soulful, bluesy rock
band from Columbia

Wednesday, Oct. 13: Jane Accurso and Dierik Leonhard, a mixture of
music including old-time music, Cajun, Irish, and more

Wednesday, Oct. 20: The Bubbas, sounds of rock & roll and country

Wednesday, Oct. 27: Premier Brass, a 5-piece brass band of Phi MU Alpha
of University of Missouri - Columbia, classical music
