Fall activities planned for Flat Branch Park

COLUMBIA, MO (August 16, 2005) -- September will offer fun for all ages
in downtown Flat Branch Park! From music to a movie to a circus, the
Columbia Parks and Recreation Department has teamed up with local
partners to provide family entertainment. Flat Branch Park is located at
4th and Cherry. 

Flat Branch Outdoor Cinema Series presenting Back to the Future, rated
PG:
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, rain date next day. What could be better
than watching a movie under the stars? Join us this fall as we head
"Back to the Future!" Grab a blanket or low lawn chair and head
out for an unforgettable evening of cinema. Cost of the movie is $3 per
person, children 6 and under are free. The Outdoor Cinema Series is
sponsored by Flat Branch Pub & Brewing and presented by Columbia Parks
and Recreation, Columbia Daily Tribune, Convention & Visitors Bureau and
Ragtag Cinema.

Twilight Entertainment at Flat Branch Park: Twilight Festival
activities at Flat Branch Park are free. Sponsored by Columbia Parks and
Recreation and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. 

Thursday, Sept 1: Flat Branch Circus, 6-8 p.m.: Back by popular demand!
Enjoy rousing circus music from the Big Top Circus Band, complete with
ringmaster. Watch Ann Gafke's performing dogs play musical chairs, do
an agility course and more. Be a part of the excitement!

Thursday, Sept. 8: Twilight Car Night with The Bubbas, 6-8 p.m.: Do you
like cars? Come to Flat Branch Park during the Twilight Festival and see
Mid Missouri Corvette Club's new, classic and competitive Corvettes on
display. You'll also enjoy rockin' music from the insatiable family
band, The Bubbas. Kids will enjoy jumping in the bounce house.

Thursday, Sept. 15: Bottom of the Boot Bluegrass Band, 6-8 p.m.:
"Good old fashun' barbequed, bone choking bluegrass." This fun
local band will make you want to get up and dance.

Thursday, Sept. 22: Twilight Bike Night with Artie's Univibe, 6-8
p.m.: Sponsored by Mid-America Harley Davidson, this night is for
motorcycle lovers young and old. Come see some of the coolest
motorcycles in town, including a variety of Harley Davidsons. While
viewing the bikes, you'll be enjoying classic rock and roll from
Artie's Univibe. Kids will enjoy jumping in the bounce house.

Thursday, Sept. 29: Cave Creek Blues Band, 6-8 p.m.: This local band
will present a variety of amazing music including blues, rock, country
and R&B and will awe you with their talent.
