Rollins Road closure
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced that
Rollins Road, approximately 100 feet west of Rothwell Drive, will be
closed to thru traffic to facilitate the installation of reinforced
concrete pipe and storm water inlets under Rollins Road. This closure is
scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 31, weather permitting.
This work is in conjunction with a storm water utility project
to alleviate both structure and street flooding in the vicinity. Work in
this area is expected to last approximately two weeks, however the
closure is expected to last two days dependant on weather conditions.
Admire Construction, LLC of Mexico, Mo., was the successful
bidder on the overall project in the amount of $79,696.80. This project
consists of 645 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe along with
concrete storm water inlets, sanitary sewer piping, the addition of an
asphalt speed table in the intersection and other incidental work.
It is anticipated that construction of the entire project will
be completed by the end of April. Care should be exercised in the
construction area and alternate routes should be used.
