Start construction of the Paris Road and Ann Street Drainage
Improvement Project
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
beginning of the construction of a drainage improvement project across
Paris Road and Ann Street.  This project is scheduled to begin on May
16, weather permitting.  
	Ann Street will be closed to through traffic during construction
to facilitate the installation of reinforced concrete pipe and street
inlets under the street pavement of Ann Street. Paris Road will be
reduced to one-lane traffic during non-peak traffic hours for the
installation reinforced concrete pipe, storm water inlets, as well as
the replacement of an 8-inch sanitary sewer main. 
	A signed detour to divert around the project will be in place.
It is recommended the public utilize the detour in order to expedite the
work completion and avoid expected traffic delays.
	I & I Works Inc. of Columbia, Mo., was the successful bidder on
the project in the amount of $69,563. This project will consist of 180
linear feet of reinforced concrete and plastic pipe with reinforced
concrete inlets, 193 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer piping,
manholes and other incidental work.
	It is anticipated that construction will be completed by July of
2005. Care should be exercised in the construction area and alternate
routes should be used.
