Closure of Rollins Street between College Avenue and Hitt
Street
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
announced today that beginning Monday, May 16, at 7 a.m., J. Louis Crum
Corp., the contractor working for the University of Missouri, will begin
repair work on underground water lines. This work will result in the
closure of Rollins Street between College Avenue and Hitt Street. A
detour route will be marked out as follows:
* For westbound Rollins Street traffic - from College Avenue,
proceed south to Hospital Drive. Turn west on Hospital Drive. Proceed
west on Hospital Drive to Hitt Street, then north on Hitt Street to
Rollins Street.
* For eastbound Rollins Street traffic - turn south at Hitt Street
and proceed to Hospital Drive. Turn east on Hospital Drive and proceed
to College Avenue. Turn north on College Avenue and proceed to Rollins
Street.
The work should be completed and the street should be reopened,
weather permitting, by Friday, June 3, at 7 p.m. Motorists and
pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the
construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.
