Nichols named chief engineer for Public Works
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department is
pleased to announce that Mr. David A. Nichols has accepted the position
of chief engineer. Mr. Nichols is a graduate of the University of
Missouri, College of Engineering, and holds a professional engineering
license from the state of Missouri.
	He has extensive experience in state and local governmental
service and the private sector. His career includes a stint as resident
engineer in the Northeast District with the Missouri Department of
Transportation, department manager with Boone County Public Works and
most recently with a private engineering firm in Columbia.
	Mr. Nichols brings extensive knowledge of federal, state and
local regulations, as well as supervisory experience to the department.
His work history in the private sector will enable him to provide a
balanced approach to issues of concern to the building industry.
	Mr. Nichols is 43 years old, married with four children and a
current resident of Columbia.
