Resume construction of Ward One Sidewalks Improvement Project

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
beginning of construction of a sidewalk improvement project at various
locations within the city of Columbia's Council Ward One. As
construction progresses, portions of sidewalks within the Ward One area
will be closed and minor lane restrictions may occur.
I & I Works Inc. of Columbia was the successful bidder on these
project services. This project will consist of the removal and
reconstruction of deteriorated concrete sidewalks and construction of
ADA approved ramps along with other incidental work. Funding for this
project comes from a portion of the $50,000 allocation of the annual
federal Community Development Block Grant funds the city receives for
public improvements, low-income housing and community facilities.
It is anticipated that construction will be completed by
mid-May. Care should be exercised in the construction area and alternate
routes should be used.
